Bhubaneswar, May 14 (LocalWire): Ten mobile ATMs vans have been deployed by Odisha State Cooperative Bank in Puri to help citizens deal with cash shortage.
Cyclone Fani, wreaked havoc in the coastal districts and Puri was the worst hit.
With ATM kiosks closed and thousands of people reeling under the scorching heat wave, mobile ATMs have been deployed in excess numbers across the state to help people get hold of cash.
However, in the temple of Puri, residents withdrew limited amount of cash that was sufficient enough to buy only essential commodities which helped the city not falling short of cash.
Mobile ATM vans deployed by cooperative banks were stationed at Bada Sankha, Town P.S, 18 Nala, Marketing Square, 4 Nala, Konark, Nimapara, Gundicha Mandira.
However, 3,407 people who got the service were marked from 10 May till today.
Meanwhile, banking services are back to normal and efforts are being made to operationalise all ATMs, officials said.
