Bhubaneswar, April 19 (Local Wire): A 40-year-old brick kiln worker who was thrown out of work amid the lockdown has now started his 200-km ardous walk to his hometown to get relief.
The person named Chakradhar Munda who was working at Pattamundai in Kendrapara district has now started his painstaking journey with his differently-able 8-year-old son in his arm besides his wife.
As he was out of work and running out of cash, he decided to walk all along from Pattamundai to his hometown to Ghasipura in Keonjhar district. The family hails from a tribal community.
Munda was working at Pattamundai in a brick kiln but due to the lockdown he was out of work for the last three weeks.
On the other side he and his family was also evicted from the makeshift hut they will living in.
Munda said that the police officials at kendrapara tried to intercept them but hearing their woes and plight, they allowed them to walk all along 200 kms to keonjhar district.
The district administration however claimed that they are unaware of the incident and no formal complaint into this regard has been filed with the police.
