Berhampur, October 12 (LocalWire): Over 900 learner licenses were issued by the Berhampur Regional Transport Office (RTO) at the three-day camp held at Hinjili in Ganjam district.
The authorities also conducted pollution under control (PUC) test of over 1,062 vehicles and collected insurance premiums from 35 vehicles at the camp that concluded on Friday.
The three-day camp that was organised with the support from the block development office is the first such camp held by the Ganjam RTO at the block level in the state.
Earlier the Ganjam RTO had organised a similar camp at Khallikote Autonomous College, here, for six days in September where over 1,000 learner licenses were issued.
While the first four days of the camp at the college were only for the students, the last two days were open for the general public.
The RTO has also decided to hold similar camps at the SBR Government Women’s College here for three days from 18 October.
“While the first day of the camp will be reserved exclusively for the college students, the next two days will be open for the general public,” a transport official stated.
According to the Ganjam regional transport officer SK Biswal, the purpose of the camps is to deliver citizen services at people’s doorstep.
