Bhubaneswar, December 24 (LocalWire) The wildlife lovers have something to cheer about, with a pangolin on Tuesday giving birth and a vulture laying eggs at Nandankanan Zoological Park here .
The zoo located on the outskirts of the Odisha capital Bhubaneswar is home to six pairs of vultures.
The nesting activity is a significant development in vulture conservation programme at a time when these winged species are on the verge of extinction, said Jayant Kumar Dasm Deputy Director of the zoo.
Similarly a pongolin early today gave birth, he said.
Pangolins are considered one of the critically endangered species.
Nandankanan has 22 Pangolins as on date out of which 5 are male and 17 are females, the official added.
