Paradip, March 14, (LocalWire): Relatives and friends of a dead contractual worker on Thursday staged a sit-in outside the Paradip refinery, where he was employed, to demand compensation and alternate job to his kin.
Swosti Ranjan Das, who worked as a contractual worker at the refinery, was killed in a road accident while he was on his way to work.
Family members and fellow villagers from Kujang had been since demanding Rs.10 lakh in compensation and job to a close relative of the victim.
On Thursday, they demonstrated again outside the refinery, which is run by IOCL.
According to police, Das was killed when a speeding car hit his motorbike.
He was rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack in a critical condition, but doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.
