Paradip, Dec 7 (LocalWire) Three people, including a gold smith, have been arrested for alleged theft and snatching cases in Paradip police limit area on Friday.
The accused have been identified as Biswanath Nayak (24), hailing from Zira under Raghunathpur police limit, Chinmaya Pallei (20), from Nimidihi under Paradeep Lock police limit and gold smith Umesh Sahoo, from Kothisahi under Kujang police limit.
Police have seized cell phones and gold ornaments from their possession.
Police sources said that on Nov 29, Nayak and his colleagues broke into the house of Ashok Purohit of Tarenigada under Paradip police limit and looted gold ornaments, cash worth Rs 12,000 and watches.
On Dec 2, they looted the house Baidhar Behera of same locality and fled with two cell phones and others assets.
In another incident, the trio snatched a gold chain from Mamata Manjari hailing from Phubelari, while she was waiting for transport near Bhumundei bus stand.
Nayak and his associates have been forwarded to the court.
