Berhampur, Jan 5 (LocalWire): Ganjam district administration has decided to organise PEETHA programme in urban areas from January.
State government’s PEETHA (Peoples Empowerment – Enabling Transparency and Accountability of Odisha Initiative) programme, will be extended to the urban areas due to it’s success in the gram panchayat level.
It’ll take place from 15th to 20th of every month from January, said Ganjam collector Vijay Amruta Kulange.
“We have decided to conduct PEETHA programme at eight centres under Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) jurisdiction and five centres in Hinjili municipality area with three centers each in other Notified Area Council (NAC) areas in the district,” said Kulange.
The PEETHA programme was launched by the state government in December 2018 to create awareness about various government schemes to improve transparency in distribution of individual and social benefits.
An Official of BeMC said that it will help in creating awareness on different schemes of the government and try to include the eligible persons in different programs.
