Bhubaneswar, Mar 21 (Local Wire): The petrol pump owners in the state have now vowed to shut their operations for a day on this Sunday to support the call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and lockdown appeal by the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
The Petroelum Dealers’ Association of Odisha on Saturday announced their move to shut operations for a day.
The association has appealed all petrol pumps to shut their operations for the whole day to unite against the cause of fight against Coronavirus.
“COVID-19 has triggered panic across the world. India is no exception.
Everyday the spread is seeing geometrical progression.
Union government and state government have take steps to curb the menace,” Shashank Shekhar Sahu, president of the association said.
He also said, “In such a disturbing and devastating situation our Association has an obligatory role to play.
In this regard I request all petrol pump owners to shut their operations for the whole day on Mar 22 for public awareness on COVID 19.
