Night temperatures of Phulbani and Daringibdi were recorded at 10.4 and 13 degree Celsius respectively on Friday, he added.
Interiors of the district, including Simanabadi, Kotagarh and Bramhanigaon, also reeled under severe cold with a drop in temperature.
The IMD attributed snowfall in Himanchal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir behind the sudden in temperature at several places in Odisha, including Kandhamal.
