Berhampur, March 2 (LocalWire): The first semester results of Plus III, of several colleges affiliated to Berhampur University, delayed by a year, will be declared soon, the University said. The pending results led to resentment among students.
The first semester examinations in all three streams of Arts, Science and Commerce were held from 8 February to 9 March 2018. Around 32,000 students from 115-affiliated colleges of the University had appeared in the examinations.
‘We are now preparing for the third and fourth semester examinations. But the results of the first semester is yet to be published’ said the aggrieved students. Several parents have also expressed their displeasure over the inordinate delay in publication of the results of
the first semester.
According to the rules laid down by the government, the results are supposed to be published within 45-days of the completion of the examination.
‘Lack of manpower in the said colleges delayed the uploading of the practical marks to the university portal in due time. The results will now be published next week after the approval of the examination board of the university,’ said Controller of examinations Saroj Kumar
Last year, several students had agitated alleging error in the examination process which led to students getting supplementary in their Plus III second semester examinations in 2017. A four-member expert committee headed by the vice chairperson of the Council of Higher Secondary Education and former Vice Chancellor, Utkal University Ashok Das, was formed to conduct an inquiry into the allegation.
The committee had also reportedly expressed concern over the delay in publication of the results and urged the University to publish the results soon. The University, however, failed to implement therecommendations and again delayed the publication of the results.
