Bhubaneswar, Nov 19 (LocalWire) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Nov 22 lay foundation stone for several City Gas Distribution (CGD) projects across 63 Geographical Areas (GAs) in India, including seven in Odisha.
The 7 GAs are spread over 17 districts namely Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Jajpur, Kendujhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Bargarh, Debagarh, Sambalpur, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Puri, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara.
Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram will be the chief guest at Rourkela GA function, while MoS for Rural Development Ram Kripal Yadav will be present at Berhampur and MoS for Tribal Affairs Sudarshan Bhagat at Jajpur.
The new GAs, offered by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) have an investment potential of Rs.2100 crore in next 5 years and is expected to generate around 19800 direct employment for skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled categories in Odisha.
Bharat Gas Resources Limited has bagged the GAs at Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Bargarh, Debgarh and Sambalpur districts.
Adani Gas Limited has bagged the project at Balasore, Bhadrak and Mayurbhanj districts.
GAIL Gas Limited has been authorized GAs at Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Ganjam, Nayagarh and Puri districts.
