Balasore, October 18 (LocalWire): The Sahadevkhunta police have arrested two, including one history-sheeter, and claimed to have busted a gang of highway looters on Wednesday night.
Briefing the media on Thursday evening, Sahadevkhunta police station inspector-in-charge Paresh Rout informed that the patrolling team raided the gang when they were planning to commit a crime near Fuladi square on the National Highway 16.
While four of the gang members managed to escape during the raid, the police were able to arrest Sk Mamud was apprehended on the spot.
Subsequently, the police arrested Pintu Tarei from his residence and seized two 7.56 mm bore, country-made pistols and some cash.
Both are residents of Golapolo, Aradbazar under the Sahadevkhunta police station limits.
“While two of them have been apprehended, three are still at large. Mamaud is a history-sheeter and there are over nine criminal cases pending against him at the Sahadevkhunta police station alone,” Rout said.
The police are looking for the other three accomplices Muna Sethi of Nayabazar, Hathi of Jadavour and Sk Kurban of Arad bazaar, he stated.
