Berhampur, July 31 (LocalWire): Continuing to crackdown on illegal blasting in crusher units in Ganjam district, police today arrested four people from Chadheiapalli under Buguda police station limits and seized huge quantities of explosives from them.
As many as 628 detonators, 70 kg of explosive materials, five bundles of wire, a battery used for blasting and a motorbike were seized from them, said Bhanjanagar SDPO, SS Mishra.
He said they the crusher unit has licence to operate manually without using explosive substances to blast the stones.
But during the raid, it was found that explosives were used illegally, he added.
Earlier police had arrested 11 people from different areas of Aska and Tarasingi police stations limits for illegal blasting and seized huge quantities of explosives from them.
