Jagatsinghpur Oct 19 (LocalWire) An inquiry is underway to unearth the issue of alleged fake certificates racket in SVM Autonomous College here, police said today.
On the basis of complaints lodged by affected students against the college authorities, police had interrogated the principal and employees of the college and efforts are on to go further details into the issue, they said.
Sources said 60 students had taken admission in BBA course in the college.
But, they failed to pursue higher studies as the authorities had allegedly issued fake provisional certificate which did not have Utkal University registration number.
In her FIR, a former BBA student Rupali Mohanty held the college authorities responsible for loss of one year in her studies. Besides, the provisional certificate and mark-sheet issued to her were bereft of the year of passing as well as registration number.
Principal of the College Arabind Chaini said that they were ready to face the probe being conducted by the police. “We will co-operate the police for taking action against any errant employees, who are playing with the fate of students. Efforts are on to issue original certificate”, he said.
Meanwhile, seeking original certificate and registration number soon, 142 former students who completed their degree course last year had staged a dharna in front of the college.
“The certificates issued to us are fake for which we are unable to pursue higher studies.
Even the Utkal University did not issue migration certificate as the officials said that the registration numbers issued to us are fake”, they alleged.
