Berhampur (LocalWire) July 12: Police on Friday apprehended the 23-year old man who had escaped two months ago after assaulting a constable on duty at the Berhampur police station.
The accused Md. Imran of Khaja Street had been arrested in an attempt to murder case in Berhampur Sadara police station limits and had managed to escape from the police custody on May 22.
After escaping from police custody, Imran is reported to have moved out of the state.
“Since his escape, we have been desperately trying to arrest him.
Acting on a tip off we conducted raids at different hide outs and arrested him,” Berhampur town police station inspector in charge Santosini Oram informed.
At least three cases are pending against him in different police stations in the city, the local police said.
