Bhubaneswar, July 16 (LocalWire): A team of 15 councillors from Port Blair Municipal Council (PBMC) led by the chairperson Anusia Devi visited the Bhubaneswar Operations Centre of Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) to understand the technological interventions made by the local authorities in the Temple City.
The team is on a two-day study mission to gain first-hand knowledge of various smart city projects implemented in Bhubaneswar.
The councillors will advise the island authorities on the successful technologies and initiatives that can be adopted by for faster and smoother rollout of Port Blair Smart City project.
The delegates visited various projects under BSCL and the other convergence projects like sewerage treatment plant, Smart Janpath, and smart traffic signaling system.’
“The underground cabling work across the city, social equity centre, multi-level car parking, integrated public service centre and Socially Smart Bhubaneswar Project are some of the interesting projects that we visited.
We will definitely brief the officials, planners and engineers of the Port Blair Smart City about this,’’ the PBMC chairperson said.
“We are really happy to see the tremendous progress made by the Bhubaneswar Smart City project and we hope to learn and emulate from these,” Port Blair Municipal Council K Ganeshan said.
The PBMC team will also be visiting Siliguri, Bhopal and Vellore to understand and learn from the initiatives and the progress of the respective smart city projects.
