Berhampur, Sept 27 (LocalWire): Berhampur University commenced its final semester examinations online of different postgraduate courses from Saturday.
As many as 970 students have enrolled for the examinations which will be completed by October 7.
The results of the examination will be declared before the end of October, sources said.
The university had earlier scheduled the final semester PG examinations for April 18, which could not be held due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Undergraduate examinations of the university had already been conducted before the outbreak of the pandemic, the results of which also have been already declared.
The Department of Higher Education recently directed all state universities to conduct the postgraduate examinations through online mode (due to the pandemic situation) and declare the results before the end of October.
“The first day of the examinations went smoothly and almost all candidates appeared for the examination. There were no complaints of technical glitches from the students,” said the controller of the examinations, Surendra Sethy.
As per the system, the students are getting their question papers though WhatsApp, from their heads of the department.
The Heads of Departments have made WhatsApp groups taking 50 students.
The students would write the answers in pen and paper mode in their houses. After completing, they would send the answer papers to their respective HODs, online, after scanning them in PDF mode.
While three hours have been allotted to the students to write the examination, half-an-hour extra time will be given to them to scan and send the answer papers, said the controller.
