Paradip, June 4 (LocalWire): Chairman of Paradip Port Trust Rinkesh Roy met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and handed over a cheque of Rs 5 crore for the CM Relief Fund towards rehabilitation and restoration of cyclone-affected areas.
PPT had ensured cleaning of creeks and drains, functioning of cyclone shelters with provisions like light, fan, generator, overhead tank with water and drinking water facilities.
Buses were also deployed to evacuate around 8000 people from the vulnerable areas and a control room functioned at Gate No 4 round the clock from 2-4 May.
PPT Hospital pressed a team of doctors with an ambulance to provide medical services to the affected.
People in cyclone shelters were provided with food along with bottled drinking water.
Public Utility services like electricity, roads, water supply were restored on 3 May itself. Railway and shipping operations resumed on 4 May.
