Balasore, December 24 (LocalWire): The five-day Pallishree Mela as well as Expo Odisha 2019 will be inaugurated by the Department of MSME, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairy minister Pratap Sarangi at the ITI field here on Tuesday evening.
The fair and the Expo will conclude on 29 Dec 2019.
“The event includes Pallishree Mela and the industrial trade fair, and will also showcase the culture of the district.
It is being organised with the support of the central and state governments and the administration is providing all kinds of support for its success,” a district-level officer said.
The local administration, led by district collector K Sudarshan Chakravarthy, is also coordinating with representatives of industrial houses, line function departments, including District Industries Centre, Orissa Rural Development and Marketing Society.
The other organisations supporting the programme include the central and state departments of MSME, Balasore Chamber of Industries and Commerce (BCIC), the District Small Scale Industry Association, and North Orissa Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
“Provisions have been made for 430 stalls at the event, and the overall budget is estimated to be Rs 30-35 lakh,” BCIC president and a key organiser of the event Himansu Das said, adding that the organisers expect the business to cross Rs 15 crore this year, up from Rs 12 crore in 2018.
The event will also host seminars and discussions on various issues including the development of vendors.
“The objective is to bring large industrial houses, government departments, PSUs, multinationals export houses, small and medium enterprises, SMEs, SHGs to a common platform and to establish market linkages for them,” an official said.
