Berhampur, July 23 (LocalWire): The regional director of education, Berhampur, today ordered an inquiry into the complaint by students of Biju Patnaik Women’s College, Digapahandi, that a teacher had allegedly threatened them of dire consequence if they did not take tuitions from him.
The government asked Laxmikant Tripathy to submit the inquiry report by 25 July.
‘I have inquired into the allegation and the report will be submitted to the government on Wednesday,’ Tripathy said.
Earlier, the Speaker of the Assembly, Surya Naryan Patro, had raised the issue
with the higher education minister Arun Sahu.
He said that the teacher had allegedly threatened the students with detention if they did not take tuitions from him.
The Speaker, who represents Digapahandi Assembly constituency, requested the minister to inquire into the matter and if required take action against the said teacher.
