Bhubaneswar, Dec 24 (LocalWire): The New Plate Mill collective of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has restored in-house normalcy with production commencing on Monday, said the company.
In a press release, the RSP said the cross beam of top backup balancing cylinder broke on December 22.
The Team New Plate Mill repaired the beam using in-house resources and expertise and put it into service with the help of the associated departments.
“It is worth mentioning here that the mill had a scheduled shut down on Dec 25 for various maintenance works. All these jobs were accommodated on December 23, as a result of which there would be no need to take shut down on December 25,” said the company.
Besides, the fabrication and machining of a new beam has already started in the Shops complex of RSP, which will replace the repaired beam during next scheduled shut down.
