Bhubaneswar, Dec 24 (LocalWire) Noted Odissi dancer from Bengaluru, Madhulita Mohapatra will be performing on Thursday at Rabindra Mandap in Bhubaneswar.
The performance is part of the 5-day International Odissi Dance Festival 2018 organised by Guru Kelu Charan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre.
Counted among the leading Odissi dancers of the present generation, Madhulita Mohapatra has carved a niche as one of the leading Odissi exponents in south India.
A disciple of Guru Gangadhar Pradhan, Guru Aruna Mohanty, Guru Pabitra Kumar Pradhan and Guru Krushnachandra Sahoo, she is admired and applauded by the connoisseurs and critics alike, for her profound artistry and her innate abhinaya quality.
A graded artiste of Doordarshan and an empanelled artiste of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), she is the recipient of the prestigious IIDF 2017, BCKA Yuva Kala Pratibha, Arathi Kala Ratna in Phoenix, Arizona, USA and the GTF Women’s Excellence awards. Madhulita Mohapatra has performed at several prestigious events across the country & abroad.
She is devoted to the promotion and popularisation of Odissi in South India dance through her institution, Nrityantar, by performing, teaching and nurturing finest talents.
