Bhubaneswar, Dec 16 (LocalWire): Agitation over Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) 2019 at different railway stations in the Howrah-Kharagpur section of South Eastern Railway have led to the cancellation and/or partial cancellation of several trains, East Coast Railway sources said.
Train services to Howrah, however, is normal.
Trains cancelled today are: 22201 Sealdah-Puri Express from Sealdah, 12841 Howrah-Chennai Coromandel Express from Howrah, 12863 Howrah-Yesvantpur Express from Howrah, 12839 Howrah-Chennai Mail from Howrah and 12703 Howrah-Secunderabad Falaknuma Express from Howrah.
Trains cancelled originating from other places are: 20890 Tirupati-Howrah Express from Tirupati on 15.12.2019, 22878 Ernakulam-Howrah Express from Ernakulam on 17.12.2019, 12246 Yesvantpur-Howrah Express from Yesvantpur on 16.12.2019, 22860 Chennai-Puri Express from Chennai on 16.12.2019, 18048 Vascodagama- Howrah Amaravati Express from Vascodagama on 15.12.2019, 12864 Yesvantpur-Howrah Express from Yesvantpur on 15.12.2019, 02860 Chennai-Puri Special from Chennai on 16.12.2019, 22818 Mysore-Howrah Express from Mysore on 16.12.2019, 12246 Yesvantpur-Howrah Express from Yesvantpur on 16.12.2019, 12510 Guwahati-Bangalore Cant Express from Guwahati on 17.12.2019, 12504 Agartala-Bangalore Cant Express from Agartala on 17.12.2019, 12507 Trivandrum-Silchar Express from Trivandrum on 17.12.2019 12254 Bhagalpur-Yesvantpur Express from Bhagalpur on 18.12.2019, 12514 Guwahati-Secunderabad Express from Guwahati on 19.12.2019, 15929 Tambaram-Dibrugarh Express from Tambaram on 19.12.2019.
Trains were cancelled due to the disturbance in train operations on 13th and 14th December.
As train links are involved, the effect cascaded and led to the above situation.
