Bhubaneswar, Feb 15 (LocalWire): Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik has strongly condemned the cowardly terrorist attack in Pulwama which claimed the lives of 49 CRPF jawans.
“I strongly condemn the cowardly attack in Pulwama in which 49 of our brave CRPF jawans were martyred. My condolences to the bereaved families. May the almighty give them strength to endure this moment of grave grief,” Niranjan said in a press release.
He condoled the death of two Odia jawans, who were among those martyred.
“A grateful nation salutes the supreme sacrifice of two brave sons of Odisha, Parshana Kumar Sahu and Manoj Behera, who were martyred in this dastardly attack. Odisha has lost two brave sons,” he said.
Slamming Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, Niranjan said: “The Central government must answer how such a big intelligence failure happened which costed us the precious lives of so many of our brave jawans.”
“In the last 5 years, J&K saw a 93% rise in the death of security personnel in terror attacks and the number of terrorist attacks have increased by 176%. This is a sheer failure of the govt which uses the hard work and bravery of our jawans as personal achievements and politicizes the valour of our brave jawans at the drop of a hat,” he added.
Around 3.15 pm on Thursday, a suicide bomber from Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) rammed a Mahindra Scorpio SUV carrying over 350 kg of explosives into a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) bus in Pulwama, killing at least 49 jawans and injuring several others.
