Rayagada, June 26 (LocalWire): Train services between Koraput and Rayagada that was suspended due to the Samaleswari Express accident on Tuesday afternoon, resumed after the railway track was repaired today. Three railway staff died in the mishap.

Jagdalpur-Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express and Rayagada-Jagdalpur Express left for their destinations today morning.

The 18005 Howrah-Jagdalpur Samaleswari Express rammed into a tower car that was engaged in repair work between Singapur Road and Keutguda on Tuesday afternoon and the engine, guard-cum-luggage van and a second class coach of the train derailed.

The deceased were identified as Suresh, technician from Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh, Sagar, senior section engineer from Rayagada and Gouri Naidu, technician from Rayagada.

Station masters of Keutguda and Singapur Road along with two signal staff have been suspended.

Trains running between Rayagada and Koraput were diverted and some partially cancelled following the mishap.

Railways arranged for two buses to transport passengers of Samaleshwari Express.
