Berhampur, September 25 (LocalWire): The Ganjam and Gajapati administrations have decided to close all schools for students in their respective districts on Wednesday.
The decision was taken in view of the heavy rain that has been lashing the districts for the last three days and is expected to continue today.
The schools will, however, remain open for the teachers in both the districts.
“The teachers will remain present in the schools as per the directive of the Ganjam collector Vijay Amruta Kulange,” district education officer Sanatan Panda said.
A similar order has also been passed by the Gajapati collector Anupam Saha, sources said.
According to sources, since the district administrations’ decision came in late on the day, several morning hour schools, including Kendriya Vidyalaya, Saraswati Sishu Vidyamandira and some English medium schools conducted their classes as per schedule.
