Bhubaneswar, October 24 (LocalWire): With the heavy rain during the last 24 hours inundating the tracks, the railway authorities have suspended train services along the Visakhapatnam route.
According to a Railways press release, the Bhubaneswar- Visakhapatnam intercity express will be terminated at Srikakulam.
“It will run empty up to Visakhapatnam as per convenience. The return Visakhapatnam to Bhubaneswar intercity express train has been cancelled,” the press release stated.
One pair of Visakhapatnam-Bramhapur and Bramhapur-Visakhapatnam passenger trains have also been cancelled in view of the water-logging of the rail tracks, it said.
“Measures are on war-footing to clear the water from the submerged tracks. The railway engineers are keeping a close watch on bridges and other strategic locations for safe and hassle-free movement of the train,” the release stated.
