Bhubaneswar, Nov 19 (LocalWire): The abhorrent practices of child labour, child trafficking, corporal punishment, sale of children, sexual abuse, child prostitution, neglect, child sex tourism, malnutrition, bullying, child pornography, harmful traditional practices, abduction, early and forced marriage stunts free growth of children, speakers said while taking part in a rally against child labour, exploitation and violence in the capital today.
‘Child labour is the worst form of violence on children. We all need to work together to eradicate it and bring them back to the mainstream through education.
The government and civil society organisations of the state are taking up various steps for the development of children.
However, we all need to work together and create awareness to eliminate child labour, prevent child abuse and end violence against children,’ said Labour Commissioner, Niranjan Sahoo.
A rally and signature campaign against child labour, exploitation and abuse was organized on the occasion under the joint auspices of Odisha labour directorate and civil society group People’s Cultural Centre (PECUC).
