Puri, July 3 (LocalWire): Hotels in Puri are full as guests have trooped in from all parts of the country and also abroad.
The Bada Danda will be a sea of devotees who have come to Puri to witness the annual celebration of the holy trinity and seek their blessings.
Hotels have made special arrangements to cater to the food and stay of visitors, informed Manatosh Das, a hotel staff.
‘Advance booking is done a month prior to the Rath Yatra through the department of tourism with thousands of devotees visiting Puri,’ Sabyasachi Kar, a Panthasala staff said.
Hotels reap in profits by charging a minimum of Rs2000 per room per night.
Kar also said that foreigners visiting Puri on this auspicious day often stay at Panthasala and participate in all the rituals.
This year, accomodation is less than usual as many hotels and lodges are still under renovation following the damages caused by Cyclone Fani.
Hotels are still facing frequent power outages as full-fedged power restoration has not been carried out.
Notably, Rath Yatra is scheduled tomorrow and Bahuda Yatra (Return Journey) of the three chariots to Jagannath Temple will be on 12 July, Suna Besha (the deities adorned with gold jewellery) on 13 July and Niladri Bije (homecoming) of Lords will be held on 15 July.
