Bhubaneswar, Dec 13 (LocalWire) The second batch of the Training of Trainers (ToT) Programme of Red Cross Counsellors on ‘Disaster Management and Disaster Survival Skills’ is currently underway in Bhubaneswar.
The ToT is being organised from Dec 11 to 15 at Disaster Preparedness Training Center (DPTC), Red Cross Bhawan, Bhubaneswar.
The programme is a joint initiative by the Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA) and Indian Red Cross Society- Odisha State Branch, Bhubaneswar, with an aim to create quality resource persons for school, college and community level training and awareness programes on disaster management.
During 5 days of the training programme, participants will be trained in basics of disaster management, survival skills against various disasters, first-aid and search & rescue techniques by experts from OSDMA, IRCS-OSB, Civil Defence, ODRAF, Odisha Fire Service and Odisha Road Safety Society.
As many as 25 Junior Red Cross Counsellors from Bhadrak and Cuttack district are participating in the second batch.
