Bhubaneswar, January 11 (Localwire): For Anshuman Kamila, the all India topper in Indian Economic Service (IES) 2019, economics is in his genes; he inherited his passion for the subject from his mother Dr. Mitali Chinara, who is a professor of Applied Economics in Utkal University.
The JNU alumni, who currently works with the Reserve Bank of India as a manager, has set an example for aspirants from Odisha by transforming his goal into success.
A meritorious student from school days, Anshuman was also a topper in Odisha CBSE science stream and was nominated as the Best Graduate student in Economics at St. Stephen’s College.
He also received the Manmohan Singh Fellowship and secured the first position in AISSCE in Science Stream in Odisha, besides bagging numerous scholarships including the All India Post Graduate Scholarship, and Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi Scholarship, among others.
Expressing his happiness at the success in IES, Anshuman gives credit for his success to all his mentors, seniors, parents, grandfather, relatives, friends, and well-wishers.
While Anshuman started preparation for IES after completion of his graduation, he believes that regular studies matter more than just the number of hours one spends preparing for the examination.
According to him, though he cleared the IES written test in 2019 in his third attempt, he was not at all disappointed because of the failure of his first two attempts.
His regular devotion to the goal and focus on study and grasp on the subject proved the key to cracking the exam.
Asked for his view on the economy of Odisha, Anshuman said that it was not easy to understand the status of the state’s economy.
“Odisha has plenty of natural resources, as well as human resources. It is necessary we utilize both wisely. I will try my best to work for Odisha during my tenure,” he said.
