Berhampur, March 20 (LocalWire): Revenue inspector of Chheligada revenue circle in Gajapati district was arrested by the vigilance department today for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 1000.
The accused Chintamani Panigrahy is a second-time offender and had been booked by the anti-corruption wing in 2017 for allegedly the same offence and the case is pending in court, police said.
The vigilance sleuths caught him red handed when he took the Rs 1000 from the complainant for issuing resident, caste and income certificate, vigilance SP (Berhampur), Mayadhara Swain.
The bribe money was recovered from Panigrahy and his residence and chamber raided.
The details of the findings of which are yet to be known, he said.
