Berhampur, Sept 11 (LocalWire): The in-charge revenue inspector of Mundamarai in Ganjam district’s Dharakote block and his peon were arrested by vigilance officres for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 1500 from a complainant who had gone to submit an inquiry report of a mutation case.
Simanchal Padhy, in-charge RI and Santosh Gouda were caught red-handed.
The RI had asked the complainant to handover the money to his peon.
The cash was seized from the peon, said vigilance SP (Berhampur) Mayadhar Swain.
After being arrested, their office and residents were also raided.
The details of findings from their houses are yet to be assessed, Swain said.
