Rourkela, Oct 22 (LocalWire): The Regional Transport Officer has issued letter to Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) for verification of all vehicles that ply inside the plant premises but officials are yet to reply.
Acting RTO of Rourkela, Biswajeet Mohapatra, who is also the sub-Collector Panposh, issued a letter to RSP authorities seeking permission to check vehicles inside the Plant as apart from private vehicles, RSP also owns quite a few fleet of cars and other vehicles.
‘I have issued a letter to check all kinds of vehicles inside RSP but have not received any communique in this regard.
The steel major is a government organisation and must obey rules,’ said Mohapatra.
RSP general manager rank officers were issued Swift cars a year back.
Apart from this there are certain heavy vehicles which are used inside the plant. There are several vehicles that only ply inside the Plant.
The RTO has taken cognisance of all these vehicles. ‘These vehicles need to be up to date with pollution check up and other documentation,’ added Mohapatra.
No official version from RSP was available in this regard, as no official is allowed to speak to the press as per its corporate policy.
