Bhubaneswar, Oct 14 (LocalWire): A 300-bed multi-specialty hospital will be thrown open for public at Rourkela in a couple of months to bolster the health service system in Sundargarh district.
Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy, who held a discussion with members of Rourkela Chamber of Commerce & Industry (RCCI) today in Lokseva Bhawan, said ‘State’s initiative to invite private sector investment in high quality tertiary health care has paved the way for the establishment of a multi-specialty hospital at Rourkela.’
‘Jayaprakash Hospital and Research Centre’ is being constructed expeditiously in the city over 5-acres-land with an investment of Rs. 100 crore.
Different departments of the hospital are in various stages of completion, he said.
Around 750 staffs including doctors and paramedics would be employed in the hospital.
Cardiac and neuro care would be the focus area of this multi-specialty hospital.
The need for development of a new wholesale market at outskirts of the city, establishment of a smart industrial park near the city, development of transport nagaras along Rourkela-Lathikata national highway, Rourkela-Rajgangpur state highway and Rourkela-Biramitrapur national highway; creation of more entry points to the city by constructing bridges over rivers Bramhani, Koel and Sankh; development of multi-car parking system; construction of modern public auditorium; lowering of power tariff for MSMEs to make them competitive with neighboring states; creation of one new IDCO industrial estate as existing two industrial estates were underscored by RCCI members.
Chief Secretary Tripathy assured government’s committed resolve to extend support towards making Rourkela a modern and developed city.
