Rourkela, November 23 (LocalWire): Seva Sangam 2019, a two-day exhibition-cum-awareness campaign was inaugurated here at Bhanja Bhawan on Saturday.
The two-day programme being organised by West and East units of the Seva Bharati in Odisha, an affiliated group of the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak (RSS), is being attended by representatives of 54 voluntary organisations who will be showcasing their work done in society during the time of need.
Presenting the inaugural address, Swami Brahman Sakshyatakar Nanda said, “Those are the real guardian of society who provide social service through devotion and dedication.
They really believe in the Vedic philosophy of basundheiba kutumbakam. I salute them.
The large numbers of volunteers of RSS and its affiliated organisations never utter a single word about the services they are providing during time of emergency.
They are like the trees, the flower, the wind, nature, who never claim any credit for the service they provide without really asking for anything.”
Speaking on the occasion, RSS all India sahaseva chief Rajkumar Matale pointed out that the changes in society can be brought through seva or service and mere donation does not help.
“Ensure that those receiving your aid or donation or charity shall no more require that in future, and that is the real service to the society,” he said, adding that one should contribute to the society in the same way as they do it for the family.
“That is real service to mankind and society.
Never expect anything in exchange for the service that you provided,” he stated.
The two-day programme will highlight the activities being taken up by the RSS and its affiliated organisations at the time of need.
