Bhubaneswar, October 12 (LocalWire): The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will be organising the Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal annual meeting in Odisha next week to prepare its future strategy and to take stock of the past performance.
“This is for the first time that the RSS will hold a meeting of its highest decision-making body in Odisha. The meeting will be attended by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, around 400 functionaries from different states and affiliated groups would,” an RSS functionary said
Bhagwat, who is scheduled to visit Odisha for nine days, beginning Saturday, will attend the working committee meeting here from 16-18 October at a private university.
The meeting will also be attended by RSS second-in-command Bhayaji Joshi will also participate.
Bhagwat will preside over several discussions with 45 RSS-affiliated bodies, including the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Shiksha Vikas Samiti, Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram, Swadeshi Jagaran Manch and Dharma Jagaran Samiti.
JP Nadda, BJP’s national working president, who is slated to visit Odisha on a four-day tour from 15 October, is also likely attending the RSS events besides some union ministers, sources said.
The meeting will be mostly indoors with all the affiliate bodies holding deliberations separately throughout the duration before coming together on the last day for final discussions, sources said adding the Sangh may also prepare a strategy to promote BJP in Odisha.
Though Bhagawat has visited Odisha several times in the past, his visit this time assumes significance in view of BJP’s ‘look east’ target.
Earlier, BJP president Amit Shah had announced that the party’s golden period will come only when it forms governments in Odisha and West Bengal.
