Berhampur, Feb 5 (LocalWire) An assistant engineer of Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWSS) Boudh division has fallen in vigilance net while taking a bribe of Rs 50,000, said reports on Tuesday.
The accused was identified as Bhagirathi Samantaray (57).
He was taking the bribe from a sarapanch for preparation of a bill for a project of Solar Water Supply Plant at Janhapa in Khuntabandh panchayat, said vigilance SP (Berhampur) Mayadhara Swain here on Tuesday.
The sleuths caught him red-handed on Monday afternoon according to previous arrangements at his office, said Swain.
The bribe money was recovered from him, while his residential house at Kujanga in Jagatsinghpur district and office chamber were raided byanti-graft officials.
The details of findings were yet to be assessed, he said.
Samantaray will be forwarded to the court after interrogation and assessment of his properties on Tuesday, said the SP (vigilance).
