Paradip, July 18 (LocalWire): The state Directorate of Factories and Boilers under the Labour and ESI Department is organising a division level safety convergence workshop on 18 and 19 July, in PPL Township here.
The two-day workshop aims to create awareness about safety in industries and workplaces, team work, transparency and technology in order to achieve an accident free working environment and zero causality in industrial houses of the state.
During the deliberations on the first day of the workshop, all stakeholders, including minister, experts and government officials focused on achieving zero causality during a disaster by ensuring the safety of all workers and employees.
The workshop was inaugurated by the Rural Development, and Labour and ESI Department minister Sushant Kumar Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister emphasized on ‘Vision Zero’ to achieve zero causality in industries. He also stressed on the need to implement the principle of 5Ts – transparency, teamwork, technology, time, and transformation – both in the government, and corporate sectors.
“Such a workshop will be helpful in creating awareness about the need to focus on zero causality in industrial zones like Paradip. This will help minimize accidents in the chemical plants located here,” Jagatsinghpur district collector Sangram Keshari Mohapatra said.
During the occasion, nearly 35 workers of various industrial sectors were recognised for their contribution towards improving safety standards in the factories.
The workshop was attended by over 200 delegates from various industrial houses.
