Bhubaneswar, June 3 (LocalWire) Married Hindu women on Monday observed fast and offered prayers at temples across Odisha seeking long life of their husbands, as part of the celebration of Savitri brata, an annual festival in honour of mythological character Savitri.
The women made beeline in front of famous Jagannath temple at Puri, Lingaraj temple at Bhubaneswar, Samaleswari temple at Sambalpur and at various other temples.
According to Mythology Savitri had saved her husband Satyaban from the cluth of Yama, the god of death.
