Bhubaneswar: Feb 04 (LocalWire): The Supreme Court on Monday rejected the bail plea of Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda in the Nayagarh police armoury attack case.
A bench comprising Justice NV Ramana and Deepak Gupta rejected the bail plea, said a lawyer.
Panda was arrested in July 2014 from a house in Berhampur.
He had moved the Orissa High Court in 2018 seeking bail in the police armoury attack case. However, the plea was rejected.
Later, he had moved the apex court challenging the High Court’s verdict.
Notably, over 100 armed Maoists had attacked Nayagarh police armoury on February 16 in 2008 and looted huge amount of weapons.
14 police personnel were killed and nine others were injured in the attack.
