Berhampur, September 6 (LocalWire):Ganjam district administration has ordered the suspension of classes in all the schools and anganwadi centers in the district on Friday following the prediction of heavy rainfall in the district during the next 24 hours.
According to the district collector Vijay Amruta Kulange, the students have been asked not to go to the schools on the day.
“However, the teachers will be present in the schools,” said Ganjam district education officer (DEO) Sanatan Panda, adding that if required, the evacuees may stay in the schools and the anganwadi centers, and teachers will be a help in the process.
Though there has been no rain so far in the morning, several areas in the district, including Berhampur have been inundated due to the heavy rain on Thursday.
Road communications in Berhampur and Aska have also been disrupted due to the water on the National Highway 59, sources said.
