Bhubaneswar, Sept 5 (LocalWire): The state government today announced another rehabilitation and redevelopment package for those displaced during the demolition drive of all structures within 75-metre-radius of Meghanad Prachir, the compound wall of Sri Jagannath Temple.
This announcement comes within five days of the special rehabilitation package announced by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Odisha government today announced Rs 25-crore-package for the rebuilding the century-old Raghunandan library, that was razed to ground.
It will be revamped into an international standard library that will showcase book and manuscripts on Jagannath culture and heritage.
A Rs 95-crore-housing project for the oustees was also approved by the government.
The proposed housing project will have 520 square feet units within 1.5 kilometre radius of the temple.
The priceless palm lead manuscripts that were retrieved from the heritage library will be preserved for posterity in the proposed library, said officials.
