Bhubaneswar, Dec 21 (LocalWire): The Commissionerate Police on Friday said they have beefed up security ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Odisha on December 24.
Director General of Police (DGP) Rajendra Prasad Sharma on Friday said adequate security arrangements have been made.
At least 2100 police personnel, 300 police official and four Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) will be deployed for the PM’s security, Sharma said.
After arriving at Biju Patnaik International Airport, Modi will fly to Jatani in a helicopter. After inaugurating an IIT campus there, the Prime Minister will travel to IISER in Berhampur by road.
A thick blanket of security will be placed during the road journey.
Meanwhile, Commissionerate Police and Khordha Police are inspecting airport, IIT campus in Jatani and the meeting place at Barunei.
Police have also started inspection at hotels, guest houses and lodges in the city.
All entry and exit roads of the city will be blocked for checking late night, police commissioner Satyajit Mohanty said.
