Berhampur, September 27 (LocalWire): The police have beefed up security in Gopalpur area for the two-day visit of President Ram Nath Kovind to Ganjam district.
Around 12 platoons of forces and over 100 senior police officers have been deployed on the security duty of the President who arrive this afternoon and stay at the Army Air Defence Center at Gopalpur.
He will attend a function of the Army Air Defence College, Gopalpur to handover the President Colour Award on Saturday morning.
Several high ranking defence officers, including Army chief Bipin Rawat, Governor Ganeshi Lal and chief minister Naveen Patnaik are scheduled to attend the function of the Army AD College.
“We have made elaborate security arrangements for the visit of the President,” Berhampur superintendent of police Pinak Mishra said.
