Berhampur, March 24 (LocalWire): Senior Congress leader and former state Assembly Speaker Chintamani Dyansamantara resigned as member of the state executive committee of the party.
He was hurt the party ignored him during the selection of candidates to contest in the elections. ‘I am a senior party leader and member of the executive committee. But the party did not seek my opinion during selection of the candidates,’ he said. Dyansamantara reiterated that although he resigned from the executive committee, he did not quit the party. ‘I will remain in the Congress,’ he said.
Dyansamantara, a three time MLA, was one of the aspirants for the Berhampur Parliamentary seat. But party picked up a first timer, V Chandra Sekhar Naidu, a New Delhi-based businessman to contest the election.
