Bhubaneswar, Nov 2 (LocalWire) The Odisha government today suspended the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO of Rayagada Forest Division over alleged sexual misconduct and corruption charges.
Debacharan Behera, a senior Odisha Forest Service (OFS) officer, posted at Rayagada has been placed under suspension with immediate effect for alleged sexual harassment to women staff at work place, an official statement said.
The disciplinary action was taken against Behera taking note of sensitivity and seriousness of allegations against him, it said.
Stating that there is serious allegation of sexual harassment to women staff in workplace against Behera, the sources said, “This is serious in nature and violation of Conduct Rules for government servants and the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013″.
Serious allegation of corruption/ irregularities relating to construction and maintenance of government building and purchase of store articles have also been found against him, the sources said.
