Bhubaneswar, July 11 (LocalWire): The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today started serological testing of high risk populations in the city to screen them for Coronavirus.
The BMC in collaboration with lab technicians from the Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) started the drive using serological screening to test more patients in rapid testing.
The civic body will conduct testing the immuno-compromised patients, health care workers, security personnel, media professionals, municipal workers, drivers, prisoners, shop keepers, vendors, airport workers, urban slums dwellers and people living in migrant camps and containment zones.
About 25 wards have been chosen for the purpose.
As per plan 1600 sample testing will be done from high risk people while 900 samples will be collected from community members.
“The surveillance will be completed in two rounds.
The first round will take around 10-12 days whereas the next round of surveillance will start after 28 days of the first round as per technical mandate.
Exact date will be decided later,” BMC said in a statement today.
