Jagatsinghpur, Sept 23 (LocalWire): Biridi Police claimed to have solved the sensational murder of 24-year-old nurse Niharika Patra‘s murder case but there are still many questions that have not been solved.
After the arrest of the murder accused Raja, last Saturday, the IIC of Biridi police station Tara Tudu took permission from the sub divisional magistrate, Jagatsinghpur, to remand him for three days to unearth the mystery of anybody else’s involvement in the murder or in the disposal of the body.
During interrogation, accused Raja confessed that he murdered Niharika in his friend’s house in Aparna Nagar.
The house was rented by his friend Sunil Kumar Sahoo of Kendal under Jagatisinghpur police limit.
He said he later packed her body in a sack and transported it on his bike and threw it in the Biluakhai river.
There are number of discrepancies in what Raja has told the police.
How did the owner of the house, who stays in the same building did not know about murder?
How did his friend not know about the murder when he had given the keys to his house to Raja and Niharika was strangulated with a bedsheet owned by Sahoo?
Later, he says to have packed her body himself and transported it on his bike without anyone noticing.
Since there are several loose ends to the accused’s story, police believe others involvement in the murder.
The accused said he confessed of the murder to his parents though police did not suspect him and let him go even after he was named in the FIR by Niharika’s mother and the manager of the nursing home where she worked.
The decomposed body of Niharika Patra working as a nurse in Cuttack, was found in a gunny bag from the banks of Bilukhai river.
