Berhampur: March 5 (Localwire) The members of women Self-Help Groups in the state will be provided training in digital marketing so that they sell their products easily, an official said on Thursday.
A Singapore based firm will provide the training.
The programme is likely to start in Ganjam district as a pilot project.
A six-member team of the Singapore based company along with the state government officers have discussed with district collector Vijay Amruta Kulange.
The team also visited Khandura and Gopinathpur under Hinjili block and interacted with the members of the self-help group and examined their activities.
“We have assured the team to extend all necessary help,” said the district collector Vijay Amruta Kulange.

The Ganjam is home to as many as 211 women self-help groups(SHGs) involving around five lakh women.
“From weaving clothes to vegetable farming, production of pickles, preparation of mid-day meal for the school children, collection of power bills from the consumers etc are done by the women of SHGs in different areas,” district social welfare officer (DSWO) Manorama Reddy said.
In Berhampur, the groups also manage the community toilet complexes.
